BlueTie Unveils Multi-Channel Advertising Platform to Monetize E-Mail for ISPs and Web Publishers
Tagline Advertising from Adknowledge is Integrated with BlueTie's Featuretisements, Banner, and Search Advertising
ROCHESTER, N.Y., November 13, 2007 — BlueTie, Inc. (www.bluetie.com), the first company to offer hosted e-mail and calendaring integrated with the Web's most useful services, today announced a new multi-channel advertising approach for ISPs and Web publishers to monetize e-mail applications. By partnering with Adknowledge to integrate tagline advertising, BlueTie is the first company to offer revenue opportunities through four channels: Featuretisements, display, tagline and search.. Tagline advertising from Adknowledge provides the ability to insert tagline ads into user-generated peer-to-peer e-mail, weather alerts, flight notifications, e-cards, and newsletters.
"This partnership with Adknowledge provides our ISP and Web publishing customers with all of the tools they need to deliver targeted advertising through the e-mail application," said David Koretz, president and CEO of BlueTie. "With the increase in usage of pop-up blockers and declining click-through rates, ISPs and Web publishers need the ability to leverage traditional and -innovative online advertising solutions such as Featuretisements."
BlueTie e-mail with Featuretisements, a unique model for monetizing Web-based software, increases ISP and Web publisher customer loyalty by enhancing a user's e-mail experience with a robust feature set of Web-based services, such as travel planning and driving directions. Featuretisements also provide direct revenue to ISPs each time subscribers complete a transaction using integrated services from companies like Business.com, MapQuest and Constant Contact. In addition to providing direct revenue, BlueTie's Web-based e-mail reduces ISPs' costs associated with providing e-mail, and fosters brand loyalty for Web publishers.
"We are excited to leverage BlueTie's ISP and Web publisher relationships to expand our reach to consumers," said Rick Ramos, vice president of marketing at Adknowledge. "Our offering is a perfect fit with BlueTie's stated goal to create a unique and innovative way for ISPs and Web publishers to generate more revenue and deliver features and functions that enhance their customers' experience."
More than 200,000 small and medium size business (SMB) customers have subscribed to BlueTie's free e-mail service since its October 2006 launch, and the company expects to have over three million total subscribers by the end of the year. Fueling this growth is BlueTie's ability to provide value-added business and consumer services from brand name companies integrated into the functionality of its e-mail, calendaring and file sharing applications. Featuretisements (demo: http://travel.bluetie.com) mold featured offerings as relevant functionality to users. Business.com, Constant Contact and MapQuest are the first partners making their added-value services available through BlueTie. Additional planned offerings include Internet telephony, dinner reservations and e-commerce.
